Before processing, the ores no matter underground or mined often mix together in different particle sizes. In order to correctly use materials and meet the requirements on product granularity and content, materials before using or further processing often need screening. Then how to choose the sieving equipment, so as to make the limited investment obtain the maximum benefits and keep the equipment in its best?
1. Determine the screening surface. Its width should be at least three times of the size of the largest materials, to avoid being choked up by large materials.
2. The ratio of the sieve length and width should be between 2 to 3 in order to ensure the sieving equipment in good condition.
3. According to the working condition, choose appropriate texture and structure for the screen surface.
1. When the undersize sieve, curved screen or linear vibrating screen are used for screening fine-particle materials, their mesh size should be 2 to 2.2 times larger than the separating size, and no more than 3 times; When the vibrating screen is used for screening medium grained materials, the mesh size should be 1.2 times of the separating size; When used for screening coarse grained materials, the mesh size 1.05 times of the separating size is proper;
5. Determine the number of the mesh layers. When the materials to be sieved is of a wide range in grade, using the double-deck screen as a single-deck screen can improve the handing ability the sieving equipment and protect the lower meshes;
6. Determine the sieve’s available working area. The number calculated in accordance with the requirements of the production process is sieve’s available working area, and the number in the specifications is sieve’s nominal working area. The available working area shall be 0.8 to 0.85 times of its nominal working area.
7. The materials larger than 200 mm usually adopt heavy-duty vibrating screen; While the materials whose particle size is between 10 to 200 mm, commonly choose circular vibrating screen.
